Sonnet XXIV

Alas good knight, why hast thou turned around?
Thy message reached me, but it makes no sense.
To turn and run at thy sweet love’s expense,
Though thee hast reached halfway to proving ground?

So Many Things

There are so many things I wish to say,
I bite my tongue so not to cause a stir.
So many things, in oh— so many ways.
To stir would cause the pot to overturn.
Just like I do most each and everyday,
Guess I'll just settle down right here and learn,
And wait for signs to fall down from the sky,
And send me where his heart calls by and by.

In the Setting of the Sun

The sun is setting all around us
In the colours of today
It lights our way with His love
And warms us with His grace

From this collage of dreams and memories
In waves we ride the tide
Each moment pure and lovely
As two tender hearts collide

Yesterday we sailed together
Rediscovering the truth
And the beauty of the days
That we shared in our youth

Today you're far away
Yet you feel so close to me
I could never have imagined
It would mean so much, you see

Tomorrow still the future
But no means to an end
I know now that forever
I will always call you friend

No matter where we are
In the end when life is done
My heart will rest beside yours
In the setting of the sun

Watercolor

The morning after love
A gentle tender whisper
In the daybreak as we rose
Bagels and lox for you
Just cream cheese for me
Our favorite cafe` table
As we sipped a darkened brew

Smiles endlessly shining
Eyes singing delightfully
Dancing in their shadows
As they penetrated
My quiet composure
A somewhat pleasant stress
Washed over me
In my naivete

And I whispered
I love you...

Sonnet XIX

Sonnet XIX

My lover's kiss was like a million stars,
Across the jaded purple velvet night,
And then the starlight falling from his eyes,
Reflected on this halo burning bright.

His angel, strong and beautiful, was I,
Who saved him from himself one fateful night,
And left behind with him my tender heart,
Along beside a tear at morning light.

Passed twenty years, my calling once again,
Return me to the depths from whence I came;
The needs there of a solitary friend,
Upon who's heart I once had staked my claim.

Oh, how can I but send to him my love?
His angel from the Heavens up above.
